Thankful Thursday....
Oh, I am thankful for so many things. I am sure I will not be consistent to post what I am thankful for every Thursday, but I can promise to try.
Today I am thankful for:
1. Boys who say "mom, I am bored can I wash the jeep?"
2. Girls who say "mom, want me to fix dinner?" then not only fix dinner, but fix dessert too!!
3. Water hydrants at my garden, chicken coop, goat pen and horse barn. Man does that make a difference when watering everything and everybody.
4. Ceiling fans!!!!
5. VBS that serves lunch.
6. MARK.
This is what comes to my mind right this minute because they are what I lived today!

Girls and Boys
I am constantly thanking Jesus for giving me the opportunity to raise both girls and boys. They are so different....so completely different.
My boys are strong... they are there to lift, carry, chase, cut, build, fix and fiercely protect all of their girls. They add so much color to my day. I can't wait to see them with their own children, they are the perfect combination of sweet and all boy. I would be lost without them.
My girls are sensitive, smart, content, pure, talkative, funny. I love training them to be keepers of their homes. They are often found in the kitchen fixing something yummy for their brothers. I think I would be terribly lonely without my girls. Who would watch the long version of Pride and Prejudice with me?

Happy Birthday Jenna Lou
Today my Jenna turns 12. How can that be?
Jenna, you make being a mamma so much fun. I am thankful for how hard you work around our farm, how quickly you get to your schoolwork each day, without complaining and I especially love your tender heart towards our animals. I love your love for the kitchen and for being at home. I am looking forward to watching you grow in your relationship with the Lord and to see what God has in store for your life. I love you so much Jenna. Happy 12th Birthday.

Lab #2
Izzy Mae is our silver lab. We brought her home Christmas of 08. Our plan was to breed her, but we have since changed our minds and she is headed to the vet. If I never go through a dog in heat again it will be too soon. YUCK!!!! Izzy is a sweet, sweet girl. She is a typical lab in that her "love cup" is NEVER filled.

Happy Birthday Emma (A day late)!
Yesterday was a special day here at the Taco house. My oldest daughter turned 15 years old. I can't believe it, just yesterday I was changing her diapers. I miss my little Emma Bean, and yet I love the young woman you are becoming. I can always count on you to do whatever needs to be done around our little farm, even before I ask. I love how you dive in and do your schoolwork everyday without complaining. I love your contentment for home and your commitment to the Lord. I enjoy everyday with you Emma. I am so thankful to be your momma.

The Late, Great Andrew (aka..Sideways)
You will have to forgive me, I am still learning. I will get better as I go along!!! I wanted to introduce some of our animals all in one post, but I don't know how to do the pictures. So, rather than wait days before I post again, I will just do it this way until I learn otherwise.
This is Sideways, the coolest cat on the planet. He was everyone's favorite barn cat. I unfortunately ran over him when I left early one morning a few weeks ago. I have had a hard time forgiving myself....
Annabelle
I think I will take a few posts and introduce you all to a few of our favorite animals here at the Taco Farm. We have lost a few beloved ones over the past few weeks, some intentional because they were sick, and others because of careless accidents. My first entry will be our Annabelle. She was born in the ceiling of Pat Cole's workshop in May of 07. We found her when she fell from that ceiling at about 3 or 4 days old. Desperate to save her the kids gave her to another nursing mama, who very willingly took to her. So, she lived and grew and became our inside, family cat. She is very precious and very spoiled.

Hello and welcome!
I am going to attempt to start blogging our life here on our little hobby farm. I have wanted to embark on this venture for a while now, but I hesitate because I am not, by any stretch of the imagination, a good writer. So, if you can forgive lots of grammar and spelling errors, read on.
